Canteens, Mess Gear, First Aid Pouches, Compass Pouch
Left: Canteen, M-1910 with Cover, Canteen, Dismounted, M-1910 (note aluminum cap);  Center and Right:  Canteen, M-1942 with Cover, Canteen, Dismounted, M-1910.  Although hard to see in this photo, the right hand canteen cover is in the later war green instead of the earlier khaki.
The same canteens pictured above with covers removed, and cups removed and opened.  The two cups on the left are the Cup, M-1910 characterized by their aluminum construction and rolled rim.  The cup on the right is the Cup, M-1942 which is made of stainless steel with a straight rim.  The left canteen is the M-1910 aluminum canteen, while the two on the right are the M-1942 stainless steel version.  The covers are described above.
Pouch, First Aid Packet, M-1942.   Shown are several variations. The top left pouch is open with the standard battle dressing and an example of the sulfa powder packet showing.  The M-1910 and M-1924 were also used.  Note the bottom pouch is the later war green color.
The compass pouch shown in both closed and open positions.  The compass would also fit in a first aid pouch.
